This Time Tomorrow (1) Original and Copy
Before Sunrise (Richard Linklater, 1995) and atardcer Before (Richard Linklater, 2004)
At the end of Before dawn, Linklater ended his film with a series of shots that picked the places that the main couple had walked on that special day in Vienna .. What he was doing was, in some Thus, stress and establish an emotional link between the landscape, players and spectators themselves. The two final plans showing us the couple separately and represents a parallel reaction. A response confirming the audience that day had turned definitely in the most precious memories of their lives. A memory in which space, place (Vienna) and time (one of the key factors of its sequel, Before Sunset) is contstituyen as important as the situation (flirting, long conversations, etc. .. among two).
At the beginning of Before Sunset, the filmmaker used the same narrative strategy, the same idea but using it as a prologue and epilogue not like: We watch as Linklater made a map of the locations, a selection of key parts of the film not only as a way to dialogue with its predecessor, but as a way to express ourselves and say that this reunion will be special. An encounter in which the projections of the two (and the film, as a consequence, it is also projecting above), affected by the great memories will be more important than ever.
